THE SOTTO CAPO OF THE MONACELLO HOUSE: Byakuran, white orchid. That is all he calls himself. Maybe he has a name. Maybe he doesn't. It's nobody's to know but his, but that's alright. Nobody asks. He smiles a lot, can be very kind. But at the same time, he is a cruel master. He likes flowers, and the color white.

Only half Italian, half Japanese, it's difficult to trace whether Byakuran had his start in one country or the other. He often travels back and forth between both, but treats Japan as something of a fond memory, as if he only returns to reminisce. Many of his underlings, which he had kept long before the new Don of the Monacello family had taken his place, are a mix of each ethnicity.

Before Monacello, Byakuran was just beginning to form his own group, a new challenger on the battlefield in both countries' undergrounds. Young, but alarmingly powerful, perhaps once a subject of the Antimafia Commission's genetic experimentation projects--what a slap in the face Byakuran was, if that was the case--he was (and still is) a real threat that cannot be eliminated in any means other than getting him on your side. He is deadly, and yet nobody has lived to see him actually utilize what it is that makes him so.

Of course, such secretive nature caused some people to see him as a fraud. That was fine; they could think that, until they found their families dead and cold in the streets, blood draining into the gutters.

True opportunity, however, arose when the current Don of the Monacello family made him an offer years ago, when it all began--if he assisted in the ousting of this useless old bastard Monacello, and he would have a place there instead, with a great and glorious future. The hook was power. It would be filled with power. Above all else, after all, Byakuran desires power.

And so he did.

He became the sotto capo of the family then, just below Don Monacello himself. He didn't mind sharing the power, really--if things didn't go as planned he felt he'd be quite capable of changing up positions again, anyway. For Byakuran, however, the only way is up.

It always is.
